The Aviation Security Service (Avsec) is the official provider of aviation security services based at airports throughout New Zealand. When you join as an Avsec team member, you’ll become part of a large dedicated team, who individually and collectively contribute significantly to maintaining the security of Aviation in New Zealand.

We’re seeking to appoint Aviation Security Officers into part-time roles. Specifically we’re looking for enthusiastic team members, who can demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills on a daily basis. You’ll need a good level of written skill to be able to write reports when required and some basic email and computer knowledge would be looked on favourably. If you’re a quick learner and believe you will enjoy working in a dynamic and at times challenging environment, where no two days are the same, then Avsec wants you!

The position responsibilities include:

  • Pre-departure searches of passengers and their check-in and carry-on baggage
  • Airport Access controls
  • Screening of airport workers
  • Administrative and associated tasks

You’ll be required to work a variety of shifts, a minimum of 6 hours per shift, on a six days on three days off roster including weekends and public holidays.

Shortlisted applicants must be available to attend an assessment centre which will be held on an afternoon or evening, shortly after the position closes.

As applicants need to complete a pre-employment medical examination, including drug screening, you’ll need to be fit and healthy. You’ll also need to pass security vetting checks before an offer of employment is made.

Pre-requisites – you will need:

  • A current full & clean NZ Driver’s license
  • To be a NZ Citizen or NZ Permanent Resident
